Ohio Regulators Approve Vectren Energy’s $22 Million Rate Hike, Infrastructure Spending

The Ohio Public Utilities Commission approved a settlement allowing Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio to raise its annual distribution rates by $22 million, according to an Aug. 28 press release.

The agreement also resolves Vectren’s infrastructure replacement and capital expenditure programs, allowing the company to continue to replace aging pipelines through 2023. The company will recover expenses, with cost caps in place to limit the impact on customer bills.

The settlement will result in about $6.99 increase in residential monthly bills, but a pending proceeding related to the federal Tax Cut law is expected to offset the hike.

Vectren is a subsidiary of CenterPoint Energy.
