Missouri Regulators Approve Rate Adjustments for Liberty Utilities Natural Gas Customers

The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request by Liberty Utilities to change natural gas rates based on weather variations, according to a September 19 press release.

Midstates Natural Gas Corp., a subsidiary of Liberty Utilities, requested adjustments to its natural gas rates under the weather normalization adjustment rider, which projects anticipated gas usage changes due to weather and allows the utility to make relevant rate adjustments twice a year. Liberty Utilities serves approximately 53,300 natural gas customers in Missouri.

The regulator is authorizing a rate reduction for customers in the Northeast and West district and an increase for customers in the Southeast district. In the Northeast and West districts, natural gas rates will drop for a residential customer by $2.04 a month, whereas in the Southeast they will increase by approximately $0.24 a month for an average residential customer.
