On May 4th, 2022, The MIT Club of New York and MIT Sloan Club of New York presented a Fire-Side Chat with Alessia Falsarone, Author of Impact Challenge: Reframing Sustainability for Business. The event was held at Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL),330 Madison Ave 4th floor, New York, NY 10017. The presentation was moderated by Angelique Mercurio, CEO of EnerKnol.

Alessia Falsarone, SASB FSA, is a sustainable finance expert and a fellow of the Aspen Institute Business and Society Program. Her work bridges the gap between sustainability, financial innovation and risk management. A sought-after commentator for media outlets and academic programs, Ms. Falsarone is a member of high-level advisory groups that promote environmental and climate finance, including the G20 Environmental Ministerial, the London Stock Exchange, the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (Value Reporting Foundation) and the UN Principles for Responsible Investment. In recognition of her innovative vision for business and society, she has received an Honoree Award from the Women’s Venture Fund. She is an alumna of Stanford University, the MIT Sloan School of Business and Bocconi University. Ms. Falsarone holds certified director status with the National Association of Corporate Directors. An avid advocate of sustainability in business education, she has contributed to educational initiatives on the topic at the Asian University for Women, the Society of Corporate Compliance, the Swiss Sustainable Finance Initiative, the United Nations, Stanford University and New York University, including delivering training on climate risk and green finance in Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Angelique Mercurio is the Founder and CEO of EnerKnol, the energy policy data and analytics startup recognized by the White House as one of “America’s leading private sector innovators using open data to solve the nation’s most pressing energy challenges”. Prior to becoming a technology entrepreneur, Angelique cultivated her energy policy expertise on the commodities trading desk at Barclays Capital, where she launched US Environmental Markets research products and advised the firm’s energy traders, hedge fund and corporate clients, private equity portfolio companies, and investment banking and regulatory affairs executives firmwide, on policy impacts to energy markets. Angelique earned an MBA from MIT Sloan, and serves as the Director of Energy Programs for the MIT Alumni Club of NY. She earned a BA in Economics from NYU, where she graduated cum laude in three years while working full time.
