Currently, over thirty percent of the energy needs of the United States are fulfilled by natural gas. The American Gas Association (AGA) represents over 200 local energy companies. The American Gas Association was founded in 1918. Currently, over 72 million customers receive the gas they use from members of AGA. These customers include commercial, residential and industrial gas users.

About the Webinar, “Enhancing and Maintaining Gas and Energy System Resiliency”
The purpose of the webinar is to report on a new study by The American Gas Foundation (AGF), “Enhancing and Maintaining Gas and Energy System Resiliency.”
Meeting seasonal and peak demands is a key factor when designing energy systems. This study is an in-depth analysis of the US gas system. The move to renewables is an effort to mitigate the effects of climate change, as part of a low-carbon future. The study details how supporting gas system resilience should be planned, and identifies the changes necessary to energy policy and regulatory frameworks as a part of these plans.
About The American Gas Foundation (AGF)
The American Gas Foundation (AGF) was founded in 1989. AGF is a 501(c)(3) organization, overseen by a board of trustees, which has delivered numerous key public policy reports throughout its history. It is a well established and well respected organization in the field of natural gas energy.
The organization has sponsored many executive level forums and events, focusing on natural gas energy supply. AGF is an independent source of information, with an emphasis on natural gas. With a goal of impacting public policy, the organization provides detailed research and programs on energy and environmental issues.
Mission of The American Gas Foundation (AGF)
According to AGF’s website, AGF’s mission states: “The American Gas Foundation (AGF) has gained recognition as a valuable source of information on energy issues that affect public policy. AGF focuses on raising the visibility of the Foundation, extending its outreach to other segments inside and outside of the natural gas industry and increasing our portfolio of important public policy studies and programs.”
