The U.S. Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Initiative is implemented by the U.S. Department of Energy, MIT Energy Initiative, Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy, and the Texas A&M Energy Institute. The organization’s primary goal is to close the gender gap and increase participation, leadership, and success of women in clean energy fields.
The four pillars of C3E are as follows:
- The Clean Energy Symposium: an annual event for mid-career women, gathering professionals from all areas of clean energy.
- Awards: recognizing mid-career women with outstanding experience in leadership and accomplishments within clean energy.
- Ambassadors: a group of senior professionals who represent the C3E Initiative in the United States who constantly work to strengthen the progression of highly qualified women in energy from recruitment, to retention and advancement.
- Community: The C3E Initiative is active on social media, successfully connecting women in clean energy to the information, inspiration and insights they seek, as well as allowing members and participants to find and engage with peers and mentors.
C3E webinars provide the latest information on clean energy topics
The C3E webinar series is where the Community pillar truly takes place. The series, in fact, provides a space to hear the latest matters on clean energy topics, from women who are making a difference within the industry.
Every quarter, a new webinar is held, highlighting outstanding work from experienced clean energy professionals, and fostering discussion around clean energy solutions and opportunities.
The webinars are truly insightful, and include a discussion session following each one. A brilliant way to allow participants to ask additional questions to the speakers, share their own ideas and experiences, engage in conversation, and network.
The highlight of the discussion sessions, in particular, is the possibility of sharing frustrations and challenges faced within one’s day-to-day work.
Staying up-to-date with the latest changes in regulation and energy policies appears to be a common challenge between participants. EnerKnol can address this problem by guaranteeing access to 50+ million filings updated in real time at the local, state and federal level.
Three female experts featured on “Electric Vehicles: You Can’t Spell Revolution without EV” webinar
“Electric Vehicles: You Can’t Spell Revolution without EV” was the last webinar held by C3E, and featured three female experts who are leading the way in the development and adoption of EV technologies: Judy Chang, (Undersecretary of Energy in Massachusetts), Sila Kiliccote (Partner at Bill Gates’s Breakthrough Energy Ventures) and Margaret Smith (Technology Master at the Department Of Energy and Vehicle Technology Office).
The webinar focused on current EV advances, and overcoming existing challenges to rapid EV adoption, highlighting programs that could successfully mobilize consumers’ purchasing decisions to favor EVs.
Mark your calendar for July 21st for another great virtual event hosted by C3E: “The Storage Opportunity: Customer Demand, Market Reform, and Technology Innovation”.
