EIA U.S. Energy Outlook

The U.S. Energy Information Administration will issue its Short-Term Energy Outlook report, providing a forecast on crude oil prices, renewable diesel, and natural gas consumption. U.S. natural gas consumption in 2020 is expected to fall by 3.4 billion cubic feet per day compared to 2019, led by a decline in industrial consumption. The agency attributes the decrease to the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and milder temperatures in the first quarter of 2020, which reduced the demand for space heating in buildings.
