The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will hold a webinar to discuss a $35 million funding opportunity under the Charge Ready NY program for public sector electric vehicle charging projects. Public sector entities, including state agencies, local governments, and public university systems, can apply for grants, funded through the state’s $2 billion Sustainable Future Program, to install Level 2 chargers on publicly owned property. Selected projects will be awarded $1 million to $15 million to install chargers at one or more sites. Proposers may request up to 80 percent of eligible purchase and installation costs of EV supply equipment. Proposals are due by Oct. 20.

The Delaware Public Service Commission seeks written comments on Delmarva Power & Light Company’s proposed increase in electric distribution base rates, which would raise annual revenues by $68.6 million, or 21.9 percent. The company also proposed new riders related to bad debt recovery, low-income customer rate discounts, and revenue decoupling. The commission has allowed Delmarva to place half of the increase into effect on an interim basis, subject to refund and interest. The full increase would add about $9.31 a month to the average residential customer’s bill. 25-1555

The California Energy Commission invites comments on a staff assessment of a proposal to build a 300-megawatt/1,200-megawatt-hour battery storage project in Solano County. The project, proposed by North Bay Interconnect LLC and Corby Energy Storage LLC, would be built on a roughly 40-acre parcel and connect to the existing Vaca-Dixon Substation via a 1.1-mile generation tie line. 24-OPT-05

The California Energy Commission seeks comments on energy demand forecast inputs and assumptions discussed during a recent workshop held as part of its 2026 Integrated Energy Policy Report, or IEPR, Update. The workshop covered updates to economic and demographic inputs, historical energy consumption, as well as utility energization applications and data centers. The IEPR is prepared every two years to provide assessments and forecasts of energy industry supply, production, transportation, delivery and distribution, demand, and prices. On alternate years, the commission updates the statewide forecast of electricity demand. 26-IEPR-03

The Utah Public Service Commission will hold a virtual scheduling conference in its proceeding reviewing Rocky Mountain Power’s 2027-2029 wildfire mitigation plan. Rocky Mountain Power, a division of PacifiCorp, states that its mitigation efforts are focused on vegetation management, system strengthening and resilience, and operational practices, informed by ongoing wildfire risk analysis. Key elements of the plan include efforts to identify areas of heightened wildfire risk for enhanced inspection and vegetation management initiatives, system strengthening and grid upgrades, and advanced situational awareness using weather stations and real-time monitoring. The plan also includes community outreach, coordination, and preparedness in order to inform and protect the public before and during wildfire events. The company forecasts an investment of $231 million in capital expenditures and $57.5 million in operations and maintenance for wildfire mitigation activities in Utah between 2027 and 2029. 26-035-35

The California Public Utilities Commission will consider a proposed decision to adopt an order opening rulemaking to implement 2025 legislation (AB 825), which establishes a framework for independent governance of Western electricity markets. The law authorizes the California Independent System Operator and the electrical corporations that are participating transmission owners whose transmission systems are operated by CAISO to use a voluntary energy market governed by an independent regional organization, if specified requirements are satisfied. AB 825 requires the commission to determine that certain requirements have been met before an electrical corporation can participate in an energy market governed by an independent regional operator. The commission retains authority to direct an electrical corporation to withdraw from an energy market governed by a regional organization.
