IRS Clean Fuel Production Credit

The Internal Revenue Service seeks comments on proposed regulations regarding the Section 45Z clean fuel production credit enacted by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act and amended by the 2025 One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act. The proposed regulations would provide rules for determining the credits, including credit eligibility rules, emissions rates, and certification and registration requirements. Section 45Z provides an income tax credit for clean fuel produced domestically after Dec. 31, 2024, and sold by Dec. 31, 2029. A public hearing is scheduled for May 28, 2026. READ MORE

DOE Tribal Energy Funding Initiative

The U.S. Energy Department will hold a webinar to discuss a $50 million funding opportunity to support tribal-led energy development, with a focus on expanding access to affordable, reliable, and secure power across Indian Country. NY PSC DER Interconnection Standards

The New York Public Service Commission seeks comments on a proposal to modify the state’s standardized interconnection requirements to increase transparency in cost estimating by electric utilities. Commission staff recommended that the revisions require electric utilities to publish cost matrices, present annual updates to stakeholders, and begin using the updated cost matrices on a fixed date each year. The proposed modifications are aimed at ensuring that the level of transparency is maintained into the future and that developers can rely on a predictable schedule for updates. 24-E-0415

DE PSC Large Load Tariff

The Delaware Public Service Commission seeks written comments on Delmarva Power & Light Company’s proposed large load tariff, which will help ensure that energy-intensive facilities, such as data centers, do not shift costs to other ratepayers. The commission opened a proceeding in 2025, pausing the interconnection of any new large load facilities in Delmarva’s territory until such a tariff is established. Facilities with a monthly maximum demand of 25 megawatts are classified as large load facilities. READ MORE

MD PSC Washington Gas Light Company’s Rate Case

The Maryland Public Service Commission will hold a hearing on Washington Gas Light Company’s application for adjustments to retail rates and charges applicable to its natural gas service. The company is seeking an increase of approximately $82.5 million, with an incremental increase of $67.1 million after the inclusion of its commission-approved Strategic Infrastructure Development and Enhancement revenue requirements. MN PUC 200 MW Summit Lake Solar Project

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission will hold public hearings regarding a site permit application for the proposed Summit Lake Project, which includes a 200-megawatt solar energy generating system and a standalone 200-megawatt/800 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system in Nobles County, Minnesota. Summit Lake, a subsidiary of Geronimo Power LLC, has proposed to construct the project on approximately 1,416 acres. Written comments are due by April 20. GS-25-89

UT PSC Enbridge Gas Resource Plan

The Utah Public Service Commission will hold a technical conference to discuss the development and results of Enbridge Gas Utah’s 2026 integrated resource plan, or IRP, and to allow parties and the commission an opportunity to ask questions. Topics of discussion include heating season review, IRP project details, advanced metering infrastructure, and system integrity. Enbridge intends to submit an IRP in early June for the plan year of June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. 26-057-02

MI PSC Extreme Weather Condition Policies

The Michigan Public Service Commission seeks initial comments on recommended changes in a recent staff report regarding the state’s existing extreme weather condition policies for electric and gas utilities. Among other things, the report recommends a uniform and consistent policy for all utilities and an evaluation of the efficacy of company extreme weather policies every five years. If the commission finds that utilities must include air quality information in their extreme weather policies, staff intends to work with the utilities to monitor and update policies as needed.
