FERC Line 31 Expansion Project

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is due to issue an environmental assessment for Texas Eastern Transmission LP’s proposed Line 31 Expansion Project in Mississippi. The project is designed to add 125,000 dekatherms per day of firm natural gas transportation capacity to the company’s pipeline system. The project includes a 10.2-mile pipeline loop, which would connect to the company’s existing Lines 14 and 18 at two new crossover valves. A 1.6-mile lateral would extend southward from Lines 14 and 18 to a terminus at an interconnect with Entergy Mississippi LLC’s proposed Traceview Advanced Power Station in Madison County. BLM Colorado Oil and Gas Lease Sale

The Bureau of Land Management will hold an oil and gas lease sale for 170 parcels totaling 155,816 acres in Colorado. The bureau completed scoping on these parcels in January 2026 and held a public comment period on the parcels and the related environmental analysis, which closed in March.

DC PSC Gas Pipeline Replacement Program

The District of Columbia Public Service Commission will hold a prehearing conference to address issues related to Washington Gas Light Company’s Modified District Strategic Accelerated Facility Enhancement Plan, a revised version of its PROJECTpipes replacement program. The commission issued an order holding implementation of the plan in abeyance after finding, based on extensive testimony, that material facts remain in dispute, particularly regarding the JANA risk model. The model is a quantitative risk assessment tool used to evaluate and manage gas pipeline integrity. FC1179

NY PSC Residential Weatherization Programs

The New York Public Service Commission staff will host a technical conference to identify barriers to residential weatherization in disadvantaged communities and discuss strategies to address them through energy efficiency and building electrification portfolios approved in 2025. The commission approved portfolios for low- to moderate-income (LMI) and non-LMI customers for the 2026–2030 period, establishing weatherization as a core priority. The LMI order highlighted weatherization investments delivered through EmPower+ and affordable multifamily programs as a means to reduce energy consumption and costs, improve affordability, deliver broader electric and gas system benefits, and prepare homes for electrification. The commission also directed major investor-owned utilities to develop Regional Residential Weatherization Programs for non-LMI customers in the Upstate and Downstate regions. 25-M-0248

OR PUC Cascade Natural Gas Rate Case

The Oregon Public Utility Commission seeks comments on Cascade Natural Gas Corporation’s application to adjust retail rates and charges applicable to its gas service. The company is seeking an increase of approximately $16.4 million, or 15.82 percent, which would increase the monthly bill for a typical residential customer, using an average 59 therms per month, by approximately $11.07. This is the company’s first general rate case since 2020.

NV PUC 218 MW Peru Ridge Natural Gas Project

The Nevada Public Utilities Commission will hold a prehearing conference on PR RNO Property Owner 1 LLC’s proposed 218-megawatt natural gas-fueled electric generating facility in Storey County. The project is intended to supply electricity for on-site consumption at the Peru Ridge data center campus. The company stated that the power system is temporary until NV Energy can deliver the required power to the data center.

HI PUC VPP Grid Services Program

The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission will hold a technical conference to discuss the design and implementation of a virtual power plant grid-services program across Hawaiian Electric’s service territories. The commission opened a proceeding in April to develop such a program, exploring how customer-sited energy resources, including rooftop solar and battery storage, can be more effectively coordinated and incentivized to support grid operations. The conference will feature presentations from commission staff and stakeholders and discuss next steps in the proceeding. READ MORE

CA EC Geothermal Energy Development

The California Energy Commission will host a workshop to discuss the benefits, challenges, and strategies of developing the state’s geothermal energy resources. The workshop, a part of the 2026 Integrated Energy Policy Report, or IEPR, update, will examine several topics including California’s geothermal resource potential and planning, financing and bankability, and workforce development and training. The report will identify potential actions the state can take to support the expansion of in-state geothermal development. The IEPR is prepared every two years to provide assessments and forecasts of energy industry supply, production, transportation, delivery and distribution, demand, and prices. In alternate years, the commission updates the statewide forecast of electricity demand. An additional workshop will be held on July 9. 26-IEPR-04
