Rover Pipeline Gets FERC Approval to Increase Natural Gas Transportation Capacity
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on April 16 approved Rover Pipeline LLC’s proposal to increase its mainline capacity by 175 million cubic feet per day, for a total mainline capacity of 3.425 Bcf per day.
The Rover Pipeline is a 713-mile natural gas pipeline designed to transport 3.25 Bcf per day of domestically produced natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica Shale production areas to markets across the U.S., as well as a storage hub in Ontario, Canada for redistribution back into the U.S. or into the Canadian market. The Rover Pipeline commenced full service on Nov. 3, 2018.
Rover said the proposed increase is supported by its analysis of actual pipeline operating flow and pressure conditions. Rover contends that the increased capacity was achieved by the use of efficient operating conditions without any additional construction or modifications to existing facilities, or the construction of new expansion facilities.
Rover is 65 percent owned by ET Rover Pipeline LLC, 20 percent by Traverse Rover LLC, and 15 percent by Traverse Rover II LLC.
