EnerKnol’s New Software Provides Game-Changing Solution for Managing Complex Energy Regulations

Powerful Tracking and Alert Systems Generate Customized, Automatic Access to Policy Information Needed to Hedge Risk and Identify Opportunities in Today’s Transformative Energy Markets

NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwired – September 30, 2015) – EnerKnol, Inc., the energy policy data company recognized by the White House as one of “America’s leading private sector innovators using open data to solve the nation’s most pressing energy challenges,” today unveiled EnerKnol 2.0, the latest version of its cloud-based policy data platform that will enable business leaders to keep up with the increasingly complicated energy regulatory landscape.

EnerKnol’s new offering puts energy decision makers at the helm with direct access to more than four million filings from federal, regional and state entities, with new enhancements for searching, tracking, and sharing policy updates, all on a single platform. Policy sources include the full universe of energy-related federal agencies, regional transmission operators, independent system operators, public utility commissions, state agencies, federal and state legislation, and local municipalities, among others.

“The introduction of EnerKnol 2.0 represents a major milestone in our mission,” said Angelique Mercurio, CEO and Founder of EnerKnol. “We’re addressing a need that is both comprehensive in scope and also incredibly specific to the diverse needs of energy market participants who are managing risk across every sector.”

EnerKnol 2.0 was developed in close collaboration with EnerKnol’s Early Adopter Working Group, an industry consortium that includes GDF Suez, the world’s largest energy supplier; several leading law firms including Dentons and Day Pitney; and Xcel Energy, a major U.S. utility, among others. Early Adopters played a pivotal role in the validation of new functional solutions and technology components, providing important feedback from real-world scenarios, and identifying critical system requirements needed for anyone working in the rapidly changing energy business.

Alicia Syrett, Founder and CEO of Pantegrion Capital and member of the Board of Directors of NY Angels, praised EnerKnol’s mission of reducing barriers to access for consumers of energy policy data. “Angelique and her team have proven through their depth of knowledge and proprietary technological approach that EnerKnol can consistently win industry accolades, attract key customers, and scale the business both in the U.S. and soon internationally.”

EnerKnol’s customer focus led to the development of an innovative 8 Dimensional (“8D”) search platform, allowing market participants to create individualized policy portfolios based on commodity, geography, agency, document type, status, date, keyword, company, and docket numbers; as well as track profile search results and share profile settings with colleagues. The new version also provides automatic alerts when changes have been made to saved dockets or policy filings, empowering faster decision making from real-time access to data.
