DOE National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors

The U.S. Energy Department seeks comments on the preliminary list of potential National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors, or NIETCs, based on information requested for Phase 2 of the designation process under the Federal Power Act. The four-phase process begins with the evaluation of the results of the most recent study identifying potential geographic areas for designation followed by the issuance of a preliminary list. During the third phase, the department continues to assess the basis for designation, initiates any needed environmental reviews, and conducts public engagement, culminating in the release of one or more draft designation reports and environmental documents. The fourth phase concludes the process with the release of final reports and documents.

DOE Community Energy Innovation Summit

The Community Energy Innovation Summit will be held in Washington, DC bringing together stakeholders working to engage underserved communities to ensure an equitable clean energy transition. The summit will include presentations by collegiate track winners of the U.S. Energy Department’s Community Energy Innovation Prize, followed by workshops and roundtable discussions to support the Clean Energy and Manufacturing Ecosystem Tracks teams. Speakers and guests include representatives from DOE Offices of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Energy Justice and Equity, Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, and additional federal agencies.

NYSERDA EV Infrastructure RFI

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority is due to receive input, in response to a request for information, from market participants across varying sectors regarding the planning, deployment, operation, and maintenance of direct current fast charging electric vehicle supply equipment, or DCFC EVSE, in New York. The authority aims to gain information about the challenges that various market participants face to help draft forthcoming solicitations for DCFC implementation. The programs that will be informed by this solicitation are intended to reduce the cost of purchasing and installing DCFC EVSE for use in the state and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles. CT DEEP Shared Clean Energy Facility Program

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will hold a virtual public meeting regarding Year 6 of its Statewide Shared Clean Energy Facility, or SCEF, program, an annual competitive clean energy procurement administered by the state’s electric distribution companies. The eight-year program, which began in 2020, procures 50 megawatts of clean energy annually. The meeting will present recommendations for the next procurement and gather stakeholder input. 24-08-03

MS PSC 170 MW Greer Solar Project

The Mississippi Public Service Commission will consider Greer Solar, LLC’s application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct and operate a 170-megawatt alternating current solar photovoltaic electric generation facility in Washington county, Mississippi. The project, which has an estimated cost of approximately $240 million, will be located on approximately 1,500 acres of leased land. The company has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement to sell the entire output to Entergy Mississippi, LLC. 2023-UA-5

NY DEC Disadvantaged Communities Investment Guidelines

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is due to receive comments on eligibility and accounting guidelines to help fulfill the 2022 Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act’s required investments in communities most burdened by the impacts of environmental pollution and climate change. The guidelines will help ensure compliance by state agencies, authorities, and entities administering funds with achieving the goal that 40 percent of the act’s funds benefit disadvantaged communities and ensure that these communities receive at least 35 percent of the benefits of the overall $4.2 billion spending statewide.

MT DEQ Air Quality Monitoring Network Plan

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is due to receive comments on its 2024 annual air monitoring network plan. Federal rules implemented by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency require each state to establish a network of monitors to measure concentrations of the criteria pollutants in ambient air in order to determine if National Ambient Air Quality Standards are being met. The plan consists of three broad sections. The first one describes the various pollutant-specific ambient air monitoring design requirements, explains the implementation details, and summarizes the results of monitoring conducted in the previous calendar year. The second section discusses proposed changes to the monitoring network for the following year, and the third provides supplemental information and data to support specific elements outlined in the plan.

CA EC ZEV Workforce Training Workshop

The California Energy Commission will hold a workshop to discuss updates and new activities related to workforce training and development for zero-emission vehicles and associated infrastructure. The workshop will include staff presentations on new and recently completed projects funded by the Clean Transportation Program supporting ZEV workforce training and development and presentations from experts representing the charger maintenance and repair industry. Commission staff will also introduce the draft ZEV Workforce Training and Development Strategy: A Roadmap for Clean Transportation Program Funding, and solicit public feedback regarding strategy objectives. 20-ALT-01
