The Energy Bar Association (EBA) is a high caliber coalition of legal professionals whose mission is to promote the professional excellence and ethical integrity of its members in the practice, administration and development of energy laws, regulations and policy.
EBA’s first post-pandemic annual meeting took place this week in Washington D.C. Over 400 thought leaders convened at the meeting to share best practices and provide updates on the difficult work being done to transition our economy to greener sources of energy. In addition to thought leadership, the EBA hosts the Energy Law Journal, the leading periodical for energy law matters, and a charitable foundation (CFEBA) through which their members support communities in need. This week, CFEBA is raising money for the World Central Kitchen Ukraine relief efforts.
Energy transition usually calls to mind cutting edge technological advances like utility scale batteries for energy storage and offshore wind. The Energy Bar Association provides cutting edge thought leadership in policy and regulatory matters. Wednesday’s general session focused on energy justice and clean energy infrastructure. The panel of experts included representatives from the EPA, law firms, and the private sector. They discussed new strategies for protecting disadvantaged communities, such as applying the provisions of the Civil Rights Act, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act to the decision making process for clean energy infrastructure. The most consistent message that the panel had for the group was to get out there, and talk to the communities that are impacted by proposed projects.
The Energy Bar Association (EBA) is growing
EBA offers innovative ideas to efficiently provide maximum productivity. The group provides communications to explore the multiple steps in searching for new ideas. EBA is growing and connecting to most of the world’s energy industry. Two national conferences are held each year to provide introductory programs for information on a more advanced level. They are the premier thought leaders in energy law.
EBA is a non-profit association organization consisting of attorneys, energy professionals, and students active in all areas of energy law. Their goal is to share new ideas and learn from other team members.
