The Florida Public Service Commission will consider a settlement agreement to cut Gulf Power Company’s base rates by $18.2 million annually to reflect the federal tax reforms, which lowered the income tax rate to 21 percent from 35 percent. MA DOER Northern Pass Deadline

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources will select a winning bidder of a contract to supply the state with renewable power supplies, equal to about 17 percent of its demand, to meet clean energy targets. The agency originally awarded the contract to Eversource Energy’s $1.6-billion Northern Pass power line. But the state tapped Central Maine Power Company’s 1,200-megawatt New England Clean Energy Connect transmission line as the alternative project in the event Northern Pass fails to obtain the necessary permits from a New Hampshire regulator by the cutoff date.
