EPA Releases Regulations to Curb Emissions from Hydraulic Fracturing (IAEE, Apr-2012)
The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) released its long-delayed emissions regulations on hydraulic fracturing on April 18, 2012. The regulations, which are considered a vital step en route to tapping future energy supplies without compromising air safety, require drillers to invest in emissions-capturing equipment by 2015. This will curb toxic smog-forming emissions.
