EnerKnol and Medgar Evers College (MEC) have partnered to participate in the EnerKnol Intern and Ambassador Program. The program allows students to apply for a paid Internship position at EnerKnol. EnerKnol is an energy data company that helps customers across the nation with easily finding the energy data they need. They are looking for the best and the brightest to join their mission. EnerKnol is giving interns the opportunity to become a part of the energy industry data transformation. The internship allows students to go from temporary to permanent employment.
In addition, the MEC and EnerKnol partnership is for innovation and giving students the opportunity to be empowered. Top MEC interns have the opportunity to gain knowledge and become more educated about regulatory jurisdiction in today’s energy field. EnerKnol prides itself on teaching others about technology. This instruction is done under the mentorship of top developers and energy experts. EnerKnol has hosted numerous student interns from its other university partners including NYU, Brooklyn Tech and others.
EnerKnol is proud to introduce its newest Interns Shelene Francis and Harmony Moore, from MEC.

Shelene Francis and Harmony Moore will help in expanding EnerKnol’s thought-leading research, and growing the company’s web and social media presence. The EnerKnol and MEC partnership provides students with great opportunities to expand their knowledge.
Shelene Francis is currently working towards obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Medgar Evers College. Shelene is currently an honor student. In some of her most recent experiences, she worked with a cardiology company that specializes in non-invasive treatment as well as invasive treatment. As a full-time student, Shelene is currently working in a hospital as a Medical Assistant while doing her internship. Shelene said; “I have gained a lot of knowledge and will gain a lot more during this internship.” Shelene’s future career goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner (NP). In order to accomplish her goal as an NP, many classes have to be completed. Other tasks such as writing research papers are required. Some of the skills needed are communication skills, technical skills, and many more.
Shelene Francis said: “As I started my internship with EnerKnol, it has been an amazing experience. I’m currently learning that the energy industry is changing to provide a better future. Medgar Evers College, the school I’m attending, is giving me this opportunity to empower myself with a lifetime of experience working with top marketing directors, researchers, and energy experts here at EnerKnol. This is the kind of great opportunity everyone should have access to and should be given”.
Harmony Moore is currently majoring in Computer Science at CUNY Medgar Evers College. For her career, she is focused on creating video games that inspire people of color through storytelling and world-building. Also, she would like to help to make technology more accessible to people with disabilities. She can see herself doing multiple things in the future such as creating art, writing stories, and graduating from college in the near future. In addition, Harmony has been in other professional internships prior to joining EnerKnol such as NASA’s Hackathon.

To help the energy community, EnerKnol hosts New York Energy Week (NYEW) each year. This event informs professionals and students about the current status of the energy industry.
According to EnerKnol, its mission is to build upon the vision of NYEW and unite different energy sectors and disciplines. The mission includes driving content for NYEW all year, including industry engagement. NYEW was created in 2013 by Angelique Mercurio, to unite diverse sectors of the industry, and cultivate a professional community that supports job growth and investment in and around New York and the energy industry.
