DOE Direct Air Capture Hub
The U.S. Energy Department seeks input on the scope of analyses and alternatives to be considered in preparing an environmental impact statement for Project Cypress, which was awarded more than $50 million as part of the Regional Direct Air Capture Hubs program. The Louisiana-based project, being developed by Battelle, in coordination with Climeworks Corporation and Heirloom Carbon Technologies Inc., includes two facilities that will capture carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere and store it underground. The program is funded by the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
