The Connecticut Light and Power Company submitted its final procurement plan for the approval of 15-year contracts to purchase class I renewable energy credits from renewable energy projects in the state, totaling $2.83 million per year in contract commitments from low emissions renewable energy projects and $5.6million per year for medium and large zero emission projects.
- The company’s Year 7 procurement activities, which followed a competitive solicitation from April 2018 to February 2019, resulted in 139 fully executed contracts.
- Large zero emission renewable energy projects zero projects (ZRECs), which are greater than or equal to 250 kilowatts and less than or equal to 1000 kilowatts, totaled $3.08 million per year.
- Medium ZREC projects, between 100 and less than 250 kilowatts, came to $2.55 million per year.
- The company received 244 bids in total, of which 26 were LREC bids, 75 Large ZREC bids and 143 Medium ZREC bids.
- The procurement of small ZRECs, which are under 100 kilowatts is not part of this procurement plan, but in accordance with the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority’s February 8 decision, the proposed tariff rate of $100.74 was still filed in the procurement plan.
