EPA Emission Standards Conference
The Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board will hold a public teleconference to discuss whether to review the scientific and technical basis for proposed updates to air regulations for oil and gas. The agency proposed two actions last year to remove regulatory duplication in the 2016 New Source Performance Standards for the oil and gas industry. The proposed rule would reverse regulations put into place in 2016 to limit the emissions of methane, a potent global warming pollutant, during drilling operations. The move follows a 2017 executive order to undo the prior administration’s climate regulations and agency actions that potentially burden domestic energy development. READ MORE
